Workshop: Computational Modeling of Language Phenomena (digital version)

Workshop: Computational Modeling of Language Phenomena (digital version)

Wednesday, 24.06.2020, 9:15–14:15 Uhr

The application of computational modelling techniques has become increasingly important in various disciplines devoted to the study of phenomena that manifest themselves in language, including Linguistics (both inside and outside Computational Linguistics), Digital Humanities, and Data Science. The workshop will provide an overview of a variety of techniques that play an important role at Trier University, with the goal of bringing together researchers working in pertinent fields and exploring potential for trans-disciplinary cooperation. The workshop will also feature an invited guest: Melanie Bell (Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge) will talk about a research project on automatic alignment of audio data, an important basis for corpus work transcending written modes of communication.

The workshop is open to all interested colleagues and graduate students at Trier University. (Advanced) students are very welcome to attend, too.

Registration for the workshop is easy, but mandatory: Please send a message to Christina Jacobs: s4chmegg@uni-trier.de

The deadline for registration is Monday, 22.6.2020.

Venue: The meeting will take place via Zoom
